The Ranchland Trust of Kansas is pleased to announce that it is applying for accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission on April 14, 2016. An accredited land trust is recognized nationally as an organization that protects significant natural, scenic, agricultural, recreational lands and resources forever. Becoming an accredited land trust will certify that the Ranchland Trust of Kansas meets the national quality standards for excellence in its conservation work.
As part of the application process, the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs. By achieving accreditation, the Ranchland Trust of Kansas will assure the public that it operates under national quality standards and practices adopted by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applicants. Comments must relate to how the Ranchland Trust of Kansas complies with national quality standards that address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust.
